Jimi Hendrix:
Jimi Hendrix was arguably the greatest electric guitarist to ever grace the stage. Hendrix experimented to refine his songwriting capacity. he often modeled the construction of his lyrics after notable song writers mostly Bob Dylan. Hendrix refused to be pushed into a specific genre of music. Jimi wanted to expand his music covering the past and the furture of music. Although Jimi Hendrix had many songs, the most famous of them all must be "All Along The Watchtower".
A important fact about Jimi's song is that it isn't his. The song was originally written and preformed by Bob Dylan. Bob Dylan's version however was not as great as Jimi Hendrix's version of "All Along The Watchtower". It was Jimi's only #1 hit of his small career. Jimi Hendrix made Bob Dylan version much better.
Another important fact about his song is that it tells a sort of story. The story is of a thief who wants to steal something. The theif has a problem though. There are people all around it guarding it. The song states, "ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER, PRINCES KEPT THE VIEW". This clarifies that this song is about an earlier time period. We can determine this because the song has princes in it with watchtower and men riding on horseback.
The last important fact abput this Jimi Hendrix song is that the song is very short. It only has three verses. It also has no chorus what so ever. The language is simple but to point. Even though his song is quite short, his song has a lot of power when listened to. These three verses are packed with meaning and drama.
"All Along The Watchtower" is a wonderful song and Jimi Hendrix is a great artist. Even though the song was written by Bob Dylan, Jimi made this song his. The way he sang it and the way he handle his guiter while playing the notes along with the lyrics. And so even though Jimi Hendrix had many songs, the most famous of them all must be "All Along The Watchtower".
